What better way to spend your family vacation than having fun on the beach? Our beautiful beach is free with plenty to do for the everyone. Our condo is beachfront – treat your family to a great beach vacation!
Enjoy spectacular ocean views from the comfort of our condo or bask in the sunshine on our balcony or on 1 of several patios (we use the ocean side patio). The complex offers 2 heated pools, 6 gas grills, and a coin-op laundry on each level. We are located in the heart of Wildwood Crest. This complex is oceanfront, steps to the beach (no streets to cross) and offers wooden walkways for the walk down to our wide beach.
We are just one block from umbrella and chair rentals. This location is also close to family dining at the Dogtooth Grill, Little Italy Restauraunt, the Saratoga Inn Coffee Shop and the Crest Tavern. If your looking for fine dining try Marie Nicoles, Oyster Creek Bar and Grill or Coastal Blues. There’s a Wawa, ACME supermarket and plenty of liquor stores in town.
The Wildwood Beaches are the only free beaches on the Jersey Shore. They are wide with plenty of room to spread out (unless you want to go right down by the surf) so you never get that “crowded in” feeling so prevalent on other beaches. The beaches are lifeguard protected (in season) and always clean. As a bonus there is a beautiful beach bar about 1/4 mile south of our condo (behind the Hotel Icona) called the Bungalow Beach bar # 7. It’s on the ocean. This chic bar serves small plates and signature cocktails, amid sofas and a fire pit.
As if the beach isn’t enough fun for the family take the trolley that stops right outside our little beach retreat (or drive on your own) and take it to the famous Wildwood Boardwalk. Just five minutes to the boardwalk by car or open air trolley (for a stress free ride) then enjoy the sights along the way. You will not be disappointed! You will need to take the tram car (Watch the tram car please!) once you get there – unless you feel like you need a good work out LOL. Check out the video below to get a sense of our little boardwalk.
The boardwalk is a mixed crowd of adults, teens and kids who are there to enjoy the festivities. The best approach to the boardwalk is to take New Jersey Ave to 17th Avenue make a right and head east to the beach. Bring a pocket full of quarters. With a little patience you’ll be sure to find a metered spot. If you don’t want to wait there are plenty of parking lots.
I don’t recommend stopping in the center of town. Wildwood is certainly going through a renaissance but there are still cheesy sections at Wildwood’s heart. The Boardwalk is fine—plenty of Police. The 2.5 mile world-famous boardwalk offers amusement rides, specialty shops, eateries, theaters and water parks.
Wildwood knows where its bread is buttered! Morey’s Pier (actually 3 of them) is the main attraction. Come with an appetite and some cash. When you buy tickets for the rides– save the ones you don’t use. They’ll be good when you come back–and you will be back! Even if its 2, 3, 4 or 5 years from now—Morey’s will honor the tickets.
If you need help while you’re on the boardwalk go to the Guest Services located at the 25th Avenue and Schellenger Avenue Pier. I recommend doing the tourist thing and let the roaming photogs (older teens) snap your picture. They always come out nice and for a few bucks you get a meaningful souvenir.
Check out the very honest review of Morey’s Pier below and see if it’s worth a visit.
Morey’s Pier Waterpark is also excellent. If you tire of the beach or just prefer non-salty water try one of the 3 water parks on the pier. Your kids will have loads of fun and you can relax in a comfy hammock or beachside loungers with an adult beverage. Check out the short video below for a little taste of the water parks.
So are you coming out to play?
